OER Project underway – it’s legal not technical!

In partnership with the JISC, I am running a pilot programme to produce Open Educational Resources for Engineering as part of my work for the Engineering Subject Centre . The goal of the programme is to make a wide range of learning resources created by academics freely available. The project includes a consortium of 7 Universities and Further Education Colleges.

The most important thing is we are entering a legal domain not really a technical or pedagogical one though thaese things are factors as well.  WE are trying to navigate a path through the incredible complex and daunting world of legal ownership – it is not and will never be clearly uniquivically defined and exisits in a sense to stop content becoming available to all with no restrictions.
